Fall Road Trip - Part 2

It took Charlie absolutely no time at all to establish his rules on his domain when we got to Stacie’s. It’s funny how it’s months between visits but he acts as though we were just there. I guess after the drive he figured he needed to rest up for Chase’s Homecoming weekend. 😊

Saturday morning I got up and decided to do a race because I felt decent. There was a race right in Wildwood that was a fundraiser for the World Kickboxing Championship that some of the locals had qualified for. When I got there it was as small as I expected because the website was pretty short on information. I struggled some with the hills but knowing ahead of time where they all were helped psychologically. The course was on the bike paths where I have trained many miles her in Grover/Wildwood. I finished DFL as I expected but got a trophy for traveling the farthest to get to the race. πŸ˜‚. After the race I went home and showered and then treated myself to a “St. Louis Classic”. IMOs Pizza. And yep I ate the whole thing.

Saturday afternoon/night Chase had homecoming picture get together, dinner, dance and then after party. Between that and picking her friend Becca and her kids up at the airport Stacie ran all day. Tom and Haley were at a hockey tournament in Omaha, Nebraska. So Charlie, Barley and I just hung out. That was good after a race.

As a mater of fact hang out is a pretty good description of how Charlie spent his days.

We were finally able to watch Haley’s last tournament game on the computer because one of the parents streamed it live. We started watching when they were down 1-2 and got to see Haley score the tying goal then they went on to win it.

The next day Charlie and I took a drive to hike at Rock Hollow something I try to do every time I visit. It was a beautiful day but we only did a mile. Then stopped to get a double steak grilled cheese burrito from Taco Bell to take home for lunch. I’ve been seeing it advertised a lot. It was very good.

Today the kids had school and Stacie and Becca went to the zoo so I took my usual pilgrimage to Half Price Books. I got a lot of books from my lists. It was a good thing to do on a lazy day when I was feeling tired.

Wednesday Stacie and I had breakfast at The Shack. It was really good! I’d only eaten there once before and was looking forward to going back.
