Back to Oregon for the Election & Treatment

I’ve never really been very involved in politics and maybe that’s the problem with too many Americans and that led to a place where we ended up in a country that could not only elect a fool like Donald Trump but that such a large percentage of our population could embrace his values.  There was no doubt that I was going to get back to Oregon in time to fill out and turn in my ballot. I’m sure I’m wrong but in my lifetime I don’t ever remember the country being led by so many hateful crazies. The main step was getting rid of Trump in the last presidential election but despite getting rid of him his hateful rhetoric is still being spewed by to many Americans and particularly too many elected officials.  The election didn’t get rid of all the “crazies” but hopefully it was a start. Fall Road Trip - Part 4

Heading West to Joe’s I knew it was that time of year where we could run into bad weather. In 2019 on the same weekend snow kept me from leaving Spell’s in Denver until the middle of the day. Sure enough the day I got to Joe’s I ran into a dusting of snow in Black Forest and then we had this the next day.  The good news is that it only lasted for one day and most of the snow melted off before the race.  It was pretty but I was glad it didn’t stick around. We watched a bunch of TV, caught up on friends and memories and shared some good food prepared by Joe. It was green chili season so it was a balancing act between how many and when to eat them with an upcoming race.  When race day came it was still cold but not bad except in the shade where there was still ice on the ground.
