Milestones

I’m still trying to reach milestones in “racing”. Last night I met Smitty at Alton Baker Park for the Oregon Track Club monthly run. I just signed up for the mile again. I felt better than before the last one and thought I’d have a faster race. Ironically I didn’t have plans to try to “push” it though because I thought it was Smitty’s first race since his heart attack so we basically just walked “fast” and caught up. The reason I say ironically is because I didn’t know Smitty had already done a 34 minute 5K earlier this month. So for the first time in a long time I finished a race without feeling like death warmed over.

The milestone yesterday was doing my 100th race since turning 70. Hopefully there will be more races to come because I still have goals.

This morning (4-14-23) I was looking at Instagram and saw a post that perfectly described what it’s like just trying to deal with living with PNH day to day. Here it is, so well said.
