Back Home in Oregon

I’ve fallen behind on this blog for several reasons the first being that I’ve basically been too tired to do anything worth writing about since we returned from Missouri. The second is that the company that has printed all of my blogs in the past went out of business. And I suppose the third can best be described as frustration, I had to decide if I was going to go back in and renter the pictures for 12 posts that for some reason were only appearing as little blue question marks. 

I finally took a day this week and updated all of those posts and decided that I wanted to at least try to finish this blog and get it printed after my birthday so that’s where I am today on June 6th starting a new post. 



One of the first things I did after being back was go to Addi’s Diner for breakfast with Smitty. And then I got to go to the PRE Classic where I saw some great track and field including the Women’s 10,000 World Record and the Kenyan Olympic Trials in the men’s 10,000. 





























I’ve tried to be more productive around home but it has to be done in small intervals which is really continuing to be frustrating. For example today I got up with the intention of working on cleaning my car which is so long overdue. I did all the windows inside and out and managed to vacuum the passenger side floor. I still have a lot of vacuuming and cleaning to do but after about 35 minutes I was exhausted and all my good intentions went out the window. 😞. Oh well 🤷‍♂️ at least I’ve made a start. 

Two things I did get mostly done that I have wanted too. I washed all of my outside trailer windows and more important I de molded and washed the inside of all but three windows so far. This is what clean windows look like. 😊



The second thing was a big job, Brandy and Donna came over and helped me pull the double recliner out. I’ve still been using it but it’s been broken down for a while and all the vinyl was deteriorating where I spent so many hours sitting on my ass and watching TV. 



Charlie is enjoying the new open space. 😊





But then again Charlie likes anything new even if it’s not for him. 😂 I moved a chair in for temporary use and when I got up to fix dinner this was his takeover. 







As readers of my blog know I have been disgusted by the 45th President before he was elected, while he “served” and everything he has done since. I despise everything about the man and all he stands for. I have prayed that he is held accountable and step one came to fruition.

Life Without Running Vol 4 - Final Oregon Days

While most of my final days in Oregon were spent packing, cleaning and getting rid of stuff I did do the Butte to Butte 5K on the 4th of July and I had tickets for the USATF Track and Field Championships for all four days. I went to the first three but skipped the fourth day because I was worn down and knew I had to load my U Haul and get on the road in just a couple of days. Here it is three months later and sadly I think the reality is my Butte to Butte 5K is probably the last one I’ll ever be able to do. I had said if I got to the point where I couldn’t do a 5k under an hour then I’d probably have to hang it up. My time was 1:00.48. 🤷‍♂️ Am I done? My spirit says no my physical abilities say yes. Maybe I’ll still try to do mile races if I can see some improvement in my health. 🤞. True wishful thinking. Christmas Traditions 🎄

​the best part about this Christmas was getting to share it with Stacie’s family for the first time since 2018. They do such a great job keeping traditions alive and it makes everything even more special.  Starting with food 😊.  The morning started with an amazing sun out front and a beautiful view out back.  Then it was coffee and cinnamon rolls and breakfast burritos until the kids got up. 😊 And of course the dogs played a central role until the were worn out   The best part of the entire Christmas as I already said was spending time with family. 😍 And of course we had our traditional Christmas meal of brisket with Mac and cheese and sides.  It’s pretty obvious that Koda and Charlie were worn out by the end of the day. Dogs & Kids Acrivities

​I got Charlie a groomer when we got here and while I was a little shocked when they brought him out the first time I have to admit I like his new look.  The other dog news is that the kids got a new dog, Koda. She’s a beautiful and smart dog.  As far as the kids activities let’s just say there are to many to mention them all. I am so proud of how well they’ve adapted to the move, new teams and new school.  Just a few of the things they’ve already done. Chase getting his senior backpack, painting his senior parking spot, homecoming, qualifying for state DECA at the District meet, getting accepted to CSU, volunteer work at the Humane Society and of course hockey.  Same for Haley busy and having so much going on. Getting her drivers permit, National Honor Society, homecoming, volunteering at multiple places through Global Leaders and playing for two hockey teams.  November had a couple of landmark events as far as my apartment.
