Spring Road Trip - Pt 5 - Busy Lives!
Man these people live busy lives π! Between Tom’s traveling for work, Stacie’s real estate work and the kids school and activities it was hard to keep track of who was where when.

And it definitely didn’t slow down when school ended. As usual the year ended with both kids getting outstanding grades and then their social calendars immediately filled up. Both were involved in hockey, Chase with his high school team and both of them preparing for tryouts. And Haley started golf lessons.

As usual Charlie spent the majority of the time downstairs being the master of his domain only coming upstairs when it was his idea. π For some crazy reason he decided eating through one of my shirts again was a good idea π€·♂️. I guess we all deal with stress in different ways.

As previously mentioned it’s funny how often food is a subject of pictures and posts when writing my blogs. Some of the best times had when traveling take place around the table. Some places show up over and over in my blogs like El Maguey and Camilla’s in Wildwood and Eureka. The last trip to Wildwood we never got to El Maguey because schedules were so crazy so Stacie and I made time to go at lunch while the kids were still in school and Tom was traveling to New Hampshire.

Then Tom, Stacie and I went to Camilla’s after hockey.

The meals we ate together at home were definitely the best with all five of us sitting down to eat together either with Stacie making some of the things she always tries to make when I’m there or Tom grilling which he did often. But the meals we ate out were fun giving us a chance to take a break from their hectic schedules. One of the new places we went was a brewery in Gray’s Summit. It was a celebration of my completing racing in the 48 states.

Other memorable meals were with Tom and Haley at a different Mexican restaurant before Chase’s hockey game. My semiannual IMO’s pizza. And a Friday night with music at Wildwood Pub.

Stacie and I took a day trip to St. Charles where they have a really nice historic area. We walked around visiting stores and then finished the morning off with a great lunch of Red beans and rice with sausage and fried okra then had a beer at Schlafly Brewery.

Another highlight of the trip was getting to go to a Cardinals game. I think it’s the closest we’ve ever sat to the field. Great seats. The only better that we’ve had were when we had a suite that included food and beer.

After the game we went to the AB brewery so I could get another Father’s Day gift. Bud Light T Shirt and hat. The reason Bud Light played such a front and center role on this entire road trip was our backlash against the hate campaign being waged by redneck bigots against the beer π». We did our part and to be honest in my case it was a dare to anyone to make a negative comment to me that I was more than ready to answer.

Charlie knew we were getting ready to hit the road for home because he had been watching me pack so he was spending more time upstairs before leaving. π
